SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. 22

Requesting the Division of Highways to name the bridge on U. S. Route 52 in Bramwell the "Freeman Bridge".

Whereas, The community of Freeman is a part of the coal heritage of the Bramwell area and is deserving of its own recognition. The community of Freeman is located directly on the Coal Heritage Trail and near the Coal Heritage Trail Southern Interpretive Center; and
Whereas, The community of Freeman, now a part of the town of Bramwell, is a part of the national historic district; and
Whereas, The historic significance of Freeman as a coal heritage community should not be diminished because of its incorporation by the town of Bramwell; therefore, be it
Resolved by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That the Legislature hereby requests the Division of Highways to name the bridge along U. S. Route 52 near Bramwell the "Freeman Bridge", identifying a coal community that has great historical significance to the Bramwell area; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Clerk of the Senate is hereby directed to forward a copy of this resolution to the Secretary of the Department of Transportation and the Commissioner of the Division of Highways.
